Poaceae, Cyperaceae and Juncaceae Week :: Cyperaceae: Sedge for id from Panipat- NS 52 : Attachments (2). 5 posts by 3 authors.
This interesting sedge with terete branches was shot from near HPGCL, Panipat..id requested..
This is also Scirpus (Schoenoplectus) species. How about S. supinus L. ? But, please also check the size of the culm, if there is any bulging on the culm where spike develops – http://www.efloras.org/object_page.aspx?object_id=122839&flora_id=2.
Thanks … for hints…I will try to find out the plant again for more views..
Pl. also see comparative images at Schoenoplectiella
Spikelets seems to be compressed and glumes distichous, so cannot be Scirpus sp. Need more details, preferably a specimen. Can be a Cyperus species.
