This is an Eria. Not easy to make out the species without looking at the closeup of flower from front. Most common would be Eria spicata but cant confirm.

Same sp. attached to help id

I tend to call it Eria spicata, now called Pinalia spicata.

Pinalia spicata (D.Don) S.C.Chen & J.J.Wood ??

Looks like Eria spicata to me. But there are a lot of other members too with similar flowers.

Please check Pinalia bipunctata (Lindl.) Kuntze  syn : Eria bipunctata Lindl.

I think this is indeed Eria spicata!!

SK 4025 22 August 2024 – Orchidaceae: 6 very high res. images.
Location: Mulkharka, Shivapuri, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Date: 30 July 2024
Altitude: 1936m.
Habitat : Wild
Same as : https://groups.google.com/g/indiantreepix/c/fBQAJ ???

It is hard to confirm without dissection but yes looks close to Eria spicata. Other similar looking flowers are E. bipunctata, E. bilobulata and Eria occidentalis.

We don’t have bilobulata and occidentalis here and do not look like bipunctata.

No sir.

Just because they are not reproted in past from Nepal, doesnt mean it is not possible to have them there. Both are on the other side of Gori Ganga river, then why not in Nepal!!

Then, maybe. Next year.

There is a thesis available online on revision of Indian Eria. You can download that. One of the chapters has details of all species. I cant find the link but it was available on sodhganga website.

No this is book to buy. Thesis is free.

Any access to Thesis ?
