Anacamptis Rich., De Orchid. Eur.: 25 (1817).
This is a group of terrestrial orchids usually found on higher elevations and in temperate regions in Europe, Mediterranean to Central Asia. The genus is represented by around 9 species and many hybrids. There are many natural hybrids found in this genus. No species so far has been reported from India.
