It looks like Usnea subfloridana


It is difficult to identify Usnea species without studying specimen as many morphological/anatomical characters as well as chemical analysis are required for specific delimitation. However, under such limitations, out of several probables including Usnea subfloridana Stirt. (reported from Western Himalaya), it is close to Usnea fragilis Stirt. which is already reported from Meghalaya (Mauphlong, Upper Shillong)..

The collector may consult “Garima Awasthi, 1986. Lichen genus Usnea in India. J. Hattori Bot. lab. 61: 331-421.”.for correct identity.
