Seen today (22.2.14) at the Friends of Trees Exhibition at VJTI, Mumbai. New for me. It is a Climber. Thunbergia species came to my mind. Sometime back when I was searching for some other flower I had come across the following flower which looks a little similar to the plant you have posted. I do not know if this is found in India. I may be totally wrong
Yes, you are absolutely right. It is the same vine I have photographed.
Juanulloa aurantiaca of Solanaceae.
Common name Gold Finger Vine.

id Please It should be Juanulloa mexicana (Schltdl.) Miers {Family – Solanaceae} There seems to be some confusion regarding its taxonomy.
The Plant List Ver.1.1 (Unresolved) GRIN Dave’s Garden Top Tropicals
Both Dave’s Garden & Top Tropicals consider Juanulloa aurantiaca & Juanulloa mexicana as same.
GRIN does have link only for Juanulloa aurantiaca Otto & A. Dietr.
The Plant List considers Juanulloa aurantiaca Otto & A.Dietr. as unresolved & Juanulloa mexicana (Schltdl.) Miers as an accepted name.
Pl. help in the matter. Please find a reply from Royal Botanical Garden: Your enquiry has been passed to me, as a member of the Americas team.
On close examination of the literature, it appears that Juanulloa mexicana (Schltdl.) Miers is the accepted name, published in 1849, and based on Laureria mexicana Schltdl (from a Schiede specimen s.n.).
Juanulloa aurantiaca Otto & A. Dietr. appears to be synonymous with this, thus it appears as an unresolved name in various taxonomic databases.
The reason it occurs in the Kew Herbarium Catalogue, is that specimen 11185.000 is in the spirit collection, so not as accessible as herbarium material, and therefore has not been recently annotated with more up to date taxonomy.
I hope this information is useful in your research. Thanks a lot, … Juanulloa aurantiaca :: Dattaji Salvi Udyan :: 13 MAY 18 : 4 posts by 3 authors. 1 image.
