23062014GS2 hebaceous climber for ID from Chakrata-GSJUN04 : 10 posts by 5 authors. Attachments (2).
This herbaceous climber was photographed from Chakrata Tiger Fall Road in September 2011, still lying unidentified. Please help in ID.

Mysterious for me too..
I remember taking pics of this from near our place of stay..

Flower is now important to ID. Any Convuvulacea member ?

I think we finally got this pending ID. Dioscorea melanophyma, courtesy … on Indian Flora Facebook, and now I realise that these black structures are bulblets and not fruits. This was ling pending for nearly two and half years.

thanks and congrats for the identity…I think it was so challenging …

A herb of such kind was found by me along VOF trek, this was with flowers/inflorescence and was suggested to be Dioscorea sp. ..
Hopefully I can now find id if I post this again…

.

This small delicate herb was seen climbing on shrubs in Tiger fall area in Chakrata at altitude of about 1400 m.
The leaves are distant, alternate with usually 3 leaflets, 2-4 cm long, sometimes 4th smaller one on side. petiole almost half the length of leaflets or shorter. Fruit a berry, borne singly in leaf axils??, about 6-8 mm, nearly globose, purplish black.
Help in ID is requested
