Date: 22nd Oct 08.
Location: We were returning from Arzoo, lying between Anini and Hunli in Upper Dibang Valley, Arunachal Pradesh when my attention was drawn to numerous Spot Puffin butterflies feeding on these purple flowers.
Altitude: approx. 1100m.
Incidentally, this was the only flowering bush for quite a stretch. its looks like Pogostemon sp Is it an aquatic herb? Looks like Pogostemon (deccanensis?), an It is identified as Pogostemon benghalensis. Links for Pogostemon benghalensis: I think Pogostemon elsholtzioides Benth. as per images herein. Yes, the leaf characters indicates it is P. elsholtzoides. In photo it is very difficult to understand the species based on inflorescence character in Pogostemon/Lamiaceae. Is it Elsholtzia sp. ? : Attachments (1). 5 posts by 4 authors. It is Elsholtzia blanda, but somewhat robust. MS, Dec., 2020/05 plant for id. : 2 images. Date : 25-01-2017
