Araceae, Arecaceae and Zingiberaceae Fortnight::Cobra Lily : MN06 : 4 posts by 4 authors.
Kindly ID  Place : Tansa Dam  Date : 15.08.2014  Height of plant : 5 feet

I don’t think this is Cobra Lily.
This should be Zingiber montanum.

I think it may be Zingiber purpureum as per Unravelling the identity and nomenclatural history of Zingiber montanum, and establishing Z. purpureum as the correct name for Cassumunar ginger

I’d request please: 3 images.
Request for I’d of a plant growing wild from Amarkantak forest area. The plant is also cultivated in Pendra. Appears to be Zingiber. Need views of experts. Photographed in July, 2022.

Zingiber montanum (J.Koenig) Link ex A.Dietr. but POWO, CoL, WFO and IPNI ??says Zingiber purpureum Roscoe is the accepted name whereas GBIF and IBP says the other way !

Zingiber purpureum Roscoe (Z. cassumunar Roxb.)
