I have only this picture of this garland!

Rhynchosia sp.

Sorry, not Rhynchosia, I meant to say Flemingia. I do not recollect species.

Thank you Sir, Bimal Da also suggested Flemingia and the closest species I could find is Flemingia strobilifera (L.) W.T.Aiton.

Looks like Desmodium pulchellum.

Thank you very much Madam. But the leaves seem to be not trifoliolate. I agree that the picture is not clear though. Attaching the entire frame I captured.

It is Phyllodium longipes (Craib) Schindl. (Fabaceae).

As mentioned with picture in “Plants of Indian Botanic Garden” by H.J.Chowdhery and D.S.Pandey (2007).

This book is presently not available in the bookstores. Can you please tell if this book features or refers to a palm, forest-bismarckia (Satranala decussilvae)?

I forgot to inform that I have already received the reply mail from … instantly.

This plant is planted along the main path at the AH soc garden ALipore

they introduced it to local gardeners as a curiosity, SUrajit You’ll find them if you walk to your right after coming out of the main office.
they look wonderful in the summer, nice curious plants with long tail hanging.

now many gardens sport them but in winter they rather look sad but add color and some height and texture to the rows by the wall.

Yes, Didi, perhaps the first photograph in this thread is from the same place where, if I remember well, a few bungalow type quarters located.

Phyllodium sp?

Phyllodium longipes

popularized by horticulturists in recent times

Yes; Showy desmodium. Phyllodium pulchellum/ Desmodium pulchellum,

Last week l have also posted this plant. Identification- courtesy …

/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/image%203.JPG

Phyllodium longipes, as identified by … seems correct.
A photo uploaded by me was taken in a jungle lodge at Corbett National Park, so it is difficult to examine leaf morphology again.
However, from the details of taxonomical keys to differentiate Phyllodium species it emerges that this image is
P. longipes.
It says: Terminal leaflet lanceolate or oblong, 13–20 cm, often 4–5 × as long as lateral ones.
I have again attached details.
I request the community to decide between P. longipes and P. pulchellum
.
