Cultivated garden plants outside a mall in Fremont on 29/9/14. Flowering season was over, could see only tiny berries.
Small plants, a couple of feet tall. I think it is a Ligustrum species; may be a cultivar of L. japonicum? Thanks for a possible id. May be Ligustrum sp. Isn’t it Chionanthus zeylanica
