This plant with showy white flowers was spotted in a cultivated garden in Thane in December 2016.
Requested to please ID. Is this some Buddleja?

This should be Aloysia virgata.
The plant at the same garden was also posted by … here

Garden Plant for ID : Verbenaceae : 301111 : AK-2 : Attachments (3). 13 posts by 5 authors.
A garden plant, cultivated taken at a plant nursery at Nasik on the 29th of Nov,11..
A small sapling, hardly one feet in height with white flowers.
The tiny flowers & leaves resembled Lantana.
A picture of the leaves is attached.

Looks like Mentha spicata

I have doubts this is not Lamiaceae!

Any possibility of Buddleja sp??

Thanks for a possible id.
But the flowers resembled more like Lantana or Buddleja.
…, thanks for pointing out.
I was going to suggest myself.

Please find the identified names …………..: Plant Name: Buddleja paniculata Wall.
Origin: Native to India, China, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar

Thanks to you and … for solving this long pending id from Nasik.

i am not 100% sure for suggested name. If u see in the net, the flowers shape and leaves r quit diffi. Its ok if i get name I will confirm

For me the plant looks like one of the varieties of Buddleja paniculata Wall.

It may be from Verbenaceae or Buddlejaceae. But it is not Buddleia.

…, to me it matches my plant at Dattaji Salvi Udyan – this must be Aloysia virgata.
…, please validate.

Yes, …

Aloysia virgata  (Ruiz & Pav.) Juss.

Nice pictures. I am wondering if my plant from Nasik identified as Buddleja paniculata Wall could be the same.

Yes …, to me, your plant at Nasik must be Aloysia virgata.

Thanks … Then many of the images on searching the net could be wrong. Let us wait for … comments.

Yes … there are too many pictures on internet labelled as Buddleja paniculata.
Aloysia virgata‘s florets are ditto of Lantana spp.

I guess ID is correct ! Leaves look like matching!
