Arenaria bhutanica Majumdar & Babu, J. Arnold Arbor. 50: 626 1969. (syn: Arenaria depauperata (Edgew.) H.Hara [Illegitimate]; Arenaria tenella Duthie ex F.N.Williams [Illegitimate]; Stellaria depauperata Edgew. (unresolved));

Himalaya (Garhwal to Bhutan) as per Annotated checklist of Flowering plants of Nepal

These photographs of Arenaria bhutanica Majumdar & Babu (basionym Stellaria depauperata Edgew.; syn. Arenaria depauperata (Edgew.) H.Hara, Arenaria tenella Duthie ex F.N.Williams) seem the first ever pics of this species as Google search results without any picture. Thanks to Mr Satish Chandra Semwal (my research student) for photographing and providing these pics for display in eFI. He has recently returned from a remote alpine zone in upper Dhauli valley (District Chamoli, Uttarakhand) and found this species near Kuari Pass (ca. 3800m).
It is a small, 5-15 cm long prostrate alpine herb distributed from Garhwal to Bhutan in the Himalaya.
