Flora of Uttarakhand- Tree1 for Id- JM:
Wild tree captured on 13/8/10 during the trek from Ghangaria (around 11,000 ft.) to Hemkunt Sahib (around 14000 ft.).

This should be Sorbus wallichii, which has pinnate leaves with leaflets which are blue-green beneath, with a prominent rib. Fruit has persistent sepals.

Sorbus sp.
Many thanks to … for the probable ID (aucuparia / foliolosa) in my earlier post.
at Valley of Flowers on August 2, 2012

Fruits seem to have bluish tinge but I can’t count more than 10 pairs of leaflets (7-12 pairs in S. aucuparia, 10-15 in S. foliosa) underside of leaf (white in S. aucuparia, rusty brown in S. foliosa) would be decisive.

Many many thanks … for resurfacing the query, and for the genus ID.
I think it is best to stay with genus ID of Sorbus sp. – because the photos do not show the required aspects to reach the species ID. They are long shots, due to the plant being at great distance.

This appears close to Sorbus foliolosa (Wall.) Spach as per images and details herein.

Close up of leaf or infl should help.

This was a distant shot, …
So, am happy with knowing the genus.
Next trip, will visit this plant.

Sorbus wallichii in FOI:
I think your images of Sorbus wallichii in FOI are of Sorbus foliolosa (Wall.) Spach as per images and details herein.
S. wallichii does not have distribution in the area as per POWO and BSI Flora of India.
Pl. correct.

I think you are right. I have removed the images for now.

For Id Validation- Sorbaria sorbifolia from Churdhar, H.P.: 7 images.

This shrub was seen in initial stage of flowering during our tour in August 2015 to Churdhar area of Himachal Pradesh.
I consider this can be a Sorbaria sorbifolia..
Your views, please..

Not very confident….but try S. microphylla (Flowers of the Himalaya: Polunin and Stainton)

I think does not matches with images as per
http://googleweblight.finegardening.com/sorbaria-sorbifolia
https://upload.wikimedia.SorbariaSorbifolia3.jpg

I think, it is Sorbus foliolosa.
Flartopped, leaves imparipinnate

Id is confirmed as Sorbus foliolosa..

Yes, appears close as per images at
