I don’t know this. but it something interesting.

Can it be Striga kamalii as per A new species of Striga section Polypleurae (Orobanchaceae) from southern Western Ghats of India (Abstract- A new species of Striga from Tamil Nadu parts of Western Ghats of India is described and illustrated as Striga kamalii sp. nov. The new species shows similarity with S. densiflora in having a densely hispid stem, linear leaves, bracts longer than calyx, and oblong fruit shorter than calyx lobes, but differs in the 10-ribbed calyx, the glandular hairs on calyx and corolla tube, and the obovate-rounded petals. A detailed description, with data on distribution and parasitism together with relevant taxonomic notes and colour photographs are provided.) ?

Need to know the number of calyx ribs on lobes to conclude the identity of the taxa. Please provide the image showing calyx lobes.

May I request you to pl. post suitable images.

Thanks, … Don’t other features guide us in this matter ?

After going through it, I feel it to be quite close to Striga kamalii

Also I do not find any other species which may come close.

No, it is quiet distinct from kamalii in many attributes,
It is something interesting. But need to workout the plants for confirming the id.

Comparing images of flower and leaves I feel it is matching.
Your opinion please !
