Kindly identify this Orchid, found on an unknown shrub. The specimen was leafless and bulbless with pencil- like stem. Habit: Epiphytic herb Habitat: Semi-evergreen forest Sighting: Kottigehara, Chikmagalur, Karnataka, about 1200 msl Date: 17-12-2015 Identified by … as Papilionanthe subulata (Willd.) Garay.
Looking at the pencil-like stem I mistook it for Luisia tristis. Only after seeing the flowers did I realize that it was different.
