Pl. check at

Thank you for the quick reply.
It seems like Carthamus  sp. Looking forward for more response on this sp.

To me looks different from species available at efi site so far as per Carthamus
Also could not find a match at Carduoideae

Tricholepis amplexicaulis  ??

I do not think matches with images at Tricholepis amplexicaulis C.B.Clarke

could try Morina spp

Morina nepalensis D.Don.

Thanks … It is also known as Acanthocalyx nepalensis.

thank god. finally !!! i was going crazy with so  many thorny hairs on leaves and even what looks like a withering bunch of flowers or developing fruit. did not match any of the morinas we had. l learned that i have to go beyond what we have. ONE NEW MORINA for our page … wonder what does the flower look like???

can we have a follow up, with flowers, next spring may be? …
