Perennial herb with tuberous roots; leaves obovate to elliptic with attenuate base, suddenly reduced below infl.; infl. paniculate, sometimes nodding with red, pink to yellowish flowers on slender pedicels; sepals falling early; petals 3-6 mm long; stamens 15-20; capsule subglobose, 3-5 mm, sometimes obtusely trigonous.

Experts kindly verify. good for you but you have to agree your diagnosis would carry more weight if you also had even one snapshot of the leaves to match mr Awale’s picture on FOI Should be Talinum paniculatum only, paniculate inflorescence, sepals not persisting in fruit, long slender pedicels, infl. nodding. Has been placed under T. fruticosum on the website.

Clicked this plant from my institute at S A S Nagar, (Mohali), Punjab.
Habit: Herb
Habitat: Shady area under the trees
Plant height: about 1 ft excluding the flowering twigs
Plant height (Including flowering twigs): 2 ft almost
Leaves: smooth, spoon shaped
Flowers: Small, pink petals and almost 1cm across
Fruits: very small, green when unripe, yellow on maturity Looks like Talinium species variety (S.paniculatum variety). But to confirm better photographs of the leaves and flowers are needed.
