Yes Coelogyne nitida. thanks a lot for sharing.

Sorry !! It’s not C.nitida. It is Coelogyn sp. (stricta ?)

No I don’t think this is stricta.

Can be nitida or something else.
I will need more pics of proper labellum to confirm.

Could be Coelogyne nitida, but cant be confirmed.

Altitude: 5800 ft.
Habit : Wild

I am very much confused with these Coelogynes.

The bulbs in nitida should be 7.5 – 10 cm long with 3 – 8 flowered inflorescence.
Hitendrae has 1 – 2 flowered inflorescence with 2.5 – 3.5 cm long pseudobulbs.
Corymbosa has 2-4 flowered inflorescence with 2.5 – 4 cm long pseudobulbs.
Your plant has has surely shorter pseudobulbs but more than 4 flowers on the inflorescence.

Hence I need to see a proper picture of a spread up labellum from above to check the lamellae

It was located higher positon on a tree and I could no go much nearer to shoot it.

I can understand.

One of the more precise character is the presence of lamellae in case of Coelogyne. Without which it becomes difficult to identify.
Thanks for sharing anyways.

There are infact lot of mistakes in the Orchids of Nepal by Bhakta. Hopefully one day you could publish your book with better identification !!

Thank you … May be with your wish I could do it one day 😀😁!

Coelogyne nitida Lindl. ??

Deformed Coelogyne. May be C. nitida or C. corymbosa.

Can’t be confirmed from these pics.

What is important is to see where inflorescence comes out from, are plants young or mature, do flower open together or from base or centre or apex.
