I think Asiatic Lily… Lilium asiaticum !!
Thank you … Lilium asiaticum
Asiatic Lily.
But I could not find any name like this or Lilium asiaticum in either The Plant List or Catalogue of Life.
There is no species as Lilium asiaticum. There are hybrid lilies called Lilium x asiatica http://www.flowersofindia.net/catalog/slides/Asiatic%20Lily.html But I could not find any name like this or Lilium asiaticum in either The Plant List or Catalogue of Life.
Why?
That is because these lilies are hybrid in origin. There is no true species called Lilium asiatica – many sites erroneously or loosely give that name. Royal Horticulure Society has categorized all the Lilium hybrids into 9 divisions, the first of which is Asiatic hybrids. Read about it here: |
