Thanks, … Pl. check comparative images at efi site.

I could not find a match as per comparative images at efi site at Garcinia

It should be Garcinia morella.

It’s a variety of Garcinia lancaefolia

As per identification of National Herbarium, Howrah, it is Garcinia succifolia Kurz. (=G. loniceroides, Ţ.Anders.). Family: Clusiaceae

Does it not appear close to images at Garcinia loniceroides T. Anders. ?

Could it be Garcinia assamica ?

To me it looks different.

Its seems to be Garcinia morella

Thanks, … But looks different from images at Garcinia morella (Gaertn.) Desr. & Biotik

Garcinia assamica: 6 images.
This Garcinia is obtained from Pechartal, North Trioura. Kindly confirm the identity.

Looks different as per
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/297334476
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/297334476 _A_new_species_of_Garcinia _Clusiaceae_from_Assam _North_East_India

To me appears close to images at Garcinia loniceroides T. Anders.

Needs to be close observation, but seems like Garcinia assamica.

Appears to be Garcinia morella only.
But need to be confirmed as similar species are occurring in Manipur, Nagaland.
Blaze exuding latex, bark of the tree is important for id.

I am unable to decide the final id. Kindly confirm.

I find it looking different from images of G.morella as per
https://www.gbif.org/species/7624454
https://www.flowersofindia.Indian%20Gamboge.html
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garcinia_morella

This is surely not G. cambogioides syn. (G. morella).
But I don’t think it is G. assmica also since the fruiting inflorescence is different from G. assamica.
By first look at leaves and fruits, it looks like G. indica (kokkum).

Pl. Check G. acuminata also.

I checked but it does not seem to match with any.

A similar plant was identified by National Herbarium, Howrah, as Garcinia succifolia Kurz. (=G. loniceroides, Ţ.Anders.). as per details at Garcinia species in Mizoram
Kindly see and confirm or otherwise.

From my experience, it could be even something new.

During our study we found four new species for India, two from Western Ghats and two from Assam. Thorough study is needed with flowers both male and female, the nature of staminodes etc. Pl follow  up.

Follow up study is required. Fruits and leaves similar with G.morella. There are few varities under G. morella. Both male & female flower including bark, latex may give additional clue. Take care of … note.
