Elaphoglossum stelligerum occurs in India, Nepal, Bhutan, China, Thailand. In India it occurs in Sikkim, Assam, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.  In the Western Ghats it is recorded from Idukki District (Mannavan shola) in Kerala, and Shevroy Hills and Palni Hills in Tamil Nadu (Manickam and Irudayaraj 1992; Kumar 1997, Kumar et al. 1998) as per IUCN Red List (LC)
