Common name: Magnificent Nutmeg • Kannada: Ramapatre • Malayalam: Churapayin; Kothapayin; Kottapannu

Agastyamalai Hills. There are also two records of the species occurring in northern Kerala and North Kanara in Karnataka. Very little of the habitat remains.

Myristica swamps do occur in Karnataka. This one might be Myristica fatua var. magnifica.
