Habitat: In tropical forests between 300 – 1350 m altitudes.
Distribution: India (West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh), Bhutan, Nepal, China (Tibet), Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia and Sumatra. [POWO indicates its occurrence in the Andaman Islands but no specimen available in any Indian herbarium].
