your first series is what we saw on gardens on east coast. particularly near beach towns… and leaves turn reddish in fall and have red berries in winter: japanese cleyera

always thought it was native of japan , may be because of it colloquial name etc but just discovered at this site that is nativity includes India, this site also was quite nostalgic for me
