Dear Friends,

On the occasion  of the 100th tree appreciation walk , we wish to thank all of you for being our  partners and collaborators, in this fascinating journey of discovery of the sylvan world  around us.

We embarked on this journey nine years ago , curious to know a little more about the trees in our backyards, in our neighborhood , in the few green spaces in the city, in our National Park.

Your enthusiasm and desire to know more about the trees around you , braving scorching heat of summer, rains, winter, reaching early in the morning, from far off place like Thane, Dombivali, Colaba, Pune, Vasai, Virar,   pushed us to learn more and discover more. As we learned and shared what we knew, we grew along with you all.

Ours has been a symbiotic relationship. Each one of us have given and received together.  On the tree walks, we have witnessed the magic of the world of trees, marveled at their beauty, and been humbled by their intelligence and quiet resilience . Together, we have experienced the truth of Thoreau’s words – ‘I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees !’.

Through our tree appreciation walks , we hope to continue to kindle in people , a desire to know more about trees, herbs, shrubs, climber around us and an abiding interest in them and love for these marvelous works of nature so that we cherish and protect them as we would our loved ones.

We invite you all for our 100th Tree Appreciation Walk on 13th January to meet the denizens of Rani Bagh to share their numerous anecdotes….
