Some Rosaceae member.. probably a Cotoneaster


Cotoneaster species so far in efi.


Maroon Branch Cotoneaster ?


Jeanette Fryer has confirmed that this is NOT a Cotoneaster.

Habit : small to middle-sized tree
Habitat : Grows wild


Looks like some Pyracantha sp.

As per this there is only speciesPyracantha crenulata , but post by Sawmliana ji looks a bit different.
May be some Cotoneaster species ?-

There has been always some confusion in identifying the plant species when dealing with a few species of Pyracantha and Cotoneaster.
I have seen a few species of these plants in California. But do not have photographs. I think the following link might help you in arriving at the right species :
