I think something else.

Looks different from Argemone mexicana and Argemone ochroleuca


Not Argemone at all. A Thistle.

oh good. then on follow up we will see a nice thistle or two… will wait for follow up..

Yes, appears closer to Cirsium as suggested by …


There are two possibilities based on basal rosette: Cirsium argyracanthum and Carduus edelbergii, latter seems more accurate.
