Saplings of large trees- endemic to western Ghats : 3 posts by 2 authors.
Are saplings of large trees that are endemic to the southern Western Ghats available anywhere? Trees like the large Dipterocarpus, Antiaris, Syzygium, Lagerstoemia, Persea, Prunus, Michelia, Ilex, etc?
Try with Kerala Forest Department nurseries.
Thank you for your response.
Unfortunately, the nurseries of the Forest Dept are not as active as they used to be & the focus has shifted to commercial timber trees and to fruit bearing trees.
I understand the Tropical Botanical Garden & Research Institute, at Palode, may be able to help me source saplings of some of the endemic species of trees & lianas found in Kerala’s forests.
