Decumbent herbs, up to 30 cm long, rooting at lower nodes, fleshy, purplish. Leaves simple, alternate, spiral; petioles ca. 1.5 cm long, sheathing at base; lamina ca. 2.3-6 x 1-2.5 cm, ovate-lanceolate, cuneate at base, acute at apex, entire, purplish-violet; secondary nerves 3-5 pairs. Inflorescence in racemes, ca. 5-8 cm long; rachis hairy; peduncles ca. 4 cm long; Flowers many, ca. 1.5 cm across, yellow; bracts ovate-lanceolate, ca. 0.8-1.2 cm long, acuminate; dorsal sepal ovate, 0.5 x 0.25 cm, acute; lateral sepals ca. 0.5 x 0.2 cm, ovate-oblong, hooded; lip with two basal sac containing two long spur-like processes; claw with 7-8 pairs of course teeth; apical lobe oblong with obliquely truncate lobules.
Damp places in evergreen broad-leaved forests, valleys; 800-2200 m.
