Himalaya to China and Tropical Asian Mountains: Assam, China North-Central, China South-Central, China Southeast, East Himalaya, India, Jawa, Lesser Sunda Is., Nepal, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tibet, West Himalaya as per POWO;


Erect perennial herbs, to 50 cm high; stem glabrous. Leaves alternate, bipinnate; leaflets 5-9, 1.5 x 2 cm, obovate, rounded at base, crenate, glabrous, palmately nerved; petioles and petiolules filiform, glabrous; stipule auricled. Flowers 7 mm across, in terminal panicled cymes; pedicels to 5 cm long, filiform; sepals 4, to 3 x 2 mm, ovate, obtuse, white with woolly hairs at apex; stamens many, free, filaments glabrous. Achenes few, to 5 x 2 mm, ellipsoid, sessile, 9-ribbed, glabrous, black, with hooked style.

Looks close but the fruiting image does not match ! Any possibility of Thalictrum javanicum Blume ??
