His earlier mail in this regard is quoted below for more clarity:
“Dear …,

I am writing to you after a long gap. After serving University of Delhi (till June 2018) as Professor of Botany, I joined Mansarovar Global University Bhopal as Vice-Chancellor, in July 2018.
The National Academy of Sciences, India  (NASI) has planned to bring out a Table Coffee Book on Leafy Greens. There are  approximately 100 Indian wild plants which are being used as leafy vegetable. We do not want to use images from internet. We have already collected original images  of 30 plants. Due acknowledgement will be given to all those whose photographs will be used.
This book is non-commercial publication and meant for those who would like to use common wild plants as cooked vegetable/ salad. The book will be the publication of NASI and it is planned to release during the Mumbai session of NASI in first week of December 2023.
We need your permission to use the images from Flora of India.
Thanking you and with regards
…”
