You can see a conspicuous ring of bud scale scars at the base of the twig. This is Machilus.
Listed are clarkeana, duthiei, gamblei, glaucescens, odoratissima pubescens and serticea
and the matching elevation is clarkeana and duthiei.
As leaves appear to be similar in many species, it is better to keep them as Machilus species only.
