Fern from Kumbahlgarh march 2024: 2 images.
Can we put a name on this fern.
Pictures were taken in the surrounding jungle of the Kumbahlgarh fortress this spring.

Yes, it’s a small and damaged specimen of Hypodematium crenatum. If taking fern photos please ensure the bottom pinnae are shown, and in this case the creeping rhizome covered in oeange-red scales is diagnostic, too.
Please refer to the Annotated Checklist of Indian Pteridophytes, vol. 2: 292 et seq., 2018,  and two photos on pg. 528.  You will need to study all three volumes for the accurate compilation of an Indian e-Flora pteridophytes as it needs to be based on experienced and detailed modern research.

It will be quite difficult (or at least expensive) for me to find those promising books from France where I live and if I try hard to be as much as exhaustive when taking pictures of plants, my lack of experience in botany may explain some oversights. I hope my pictures of numerous indian ferns will be more complete.

Hypodematium crenatum from Kumbhalgarh, march 2024: 2 images- same images as above.

Guess what ? Another fern identified by Chris FJ.
This one is a young and not so characteristic frond of Hypodematium crenatum from Kumbhalgarh, at an altitude of around 1000m.
