Yesterday visiting a nearby institute, I saw this cultivated tree growing in the compound.
I think it is a Lagerstroemia but could of course be wrong. Please advise.

But Lagerstroemia indica is a woody shrub. It seems to have become a big tree with multiple stems.

Pictures were recorded yesterday except the last one (today). I think it is L. indica “Lancastrii”. Thank you Madam, couldn’t find anything on L. indica “Lancastrii” in google-search. This is neither L. indica nor L. speciosa. I do not know what this species can be. Lagerstroemia species in eFloraofindia (with details/ keys from published papers/ regional floras/ FRLHT/ FOI/ Biotik/ efloras/ books etc., where ever available on net) This small tree is growing in my home. It doesn’t fruit usually. But today I noticed three there – attached here the pictures of the fruit and seeds. I think it is L. indica L. Also attached herewith old pictures for your perusal.
