. Hooghly : seems to be Cissus adnata Roxb. : 1 post by 1 author. Attachments (4). On closer examination, I am doubtful about C. adnata (syn. of Ampelocissus heyneana (Roem. & Schult.) Planch.) with no distribution given as per the CoL link.
Keys in Flora of China and those in Flora of Bhutan at Cissus lead me to C. simplex (syn. of Cissus aristata Bl.)
Also looks closer as per high resolution specimens at GBIF and as below:
POWO, CoL and GBIF showing distribution in WB for Cissus adnata Roxb. ! At that time I used ‘key’ & ‘distribution’ as described in the “Bengal Plants” (David Prain). I attach herewith the related text in the said book. Attachments (2)
Thank you Sir. I found some info in the links below –
Thanks, … Yes, Cissus adnata Roxb. has distribution in WB, but it looks different from your posted plant. For me it is more closer to C. simplex (syn. of Cissus aristata Bl.) Certainly, …, leaf morphology looks closer to C. aristata Bl., more so because, there are documents describing that both the species concern occur in West Bengal. I have a minute query though – in the submitted pictures of this species, do the leaves hint presence of “brown floccose abaxial surface”? Thanks, … No, it does not have ‘brown floccose abaxial surface’ You are welcome … Let there be a few more shots from the same plant.
