Kindly find below photographs of Schisandra (Schizandra) grandiflora shot in Himachal Pradesh.
This genus, falling under family Schisandraceae, has been earlier dealt under family Magnoliaceae.
A straggler bearing very beautiful flowers and fruits…. enjoy..
Thanks, …, for the wonderful pictures.
I think then Michelia champaca in the heading is wrong. Yes, there is a mistake. The name in the title should have been Schisandra grandiflora. Beautiful addition, Sir. Where was it growing ? Did not find any match for Vitaceae. Actually, leaves are not matching to any of Vitaceae. It reminds me of Sapium insigne, but it’s just a wild guess as I can’t see if this is a tree or a shrub. It is not Sapium insigne.
Please compare with S.grandiflora in eFI. You hit the bull’s eye ! Thank you.
