Ficus cupulata from Satpura : Attachments (1). 4 posts by 3 authors. Another endangered species from the Satpura Tiger Reserve. Govt of India on the basis of report of BSI included the Ficus cupulata as endangered sp, which is found in Satpura Tiger Reserve.
I searched my old photographs & found one photo resembling Ficus cupulata.
Experts please confirm the ID.
This species rediscovered by KK Khanna and Anand Kumar in 2003 from Pachmarthi biosphere reserve. Their publication appeared in Bulletin Botanical Survey of India vol. 44 (1-4). Unfortunately I do not have a copy of the publication. Kindly refer the above publication.
Ficus cupulata Haines (No synonyms)
Endemic to Central India, Madhya Pradesh and some parts of South Uttar Pradesh very common in the Satpura hills, a critical endangered species. Easy to identify with its large cup shaped bracts. In a similar kind of habitat like Ficus arnottiana and Ficus mollis grow on rocks.
