Fruit hairs are not clear. Pl. see

Looks different as per images at
https://efloraofindia.com/efi/osbeckia-nepalensis/ 1 high res. image. I think looks different from images at Melastoma malabathricum ‘Alba’. As all the stamens are of the same size, it can not be Melastoma. .

Yes Close up details of calyx are required.
However, check Osbeckia stellata Buch.-Ham. ex Ker Gawl., the most common species in north east.
