Annuals; culms 10-30 cm high, trailing; nodes hairy. Leaves 2-5 x 0.5-1.2 cm, ovate, acute, cordate and decurrent at base, densely hairy; sheath keeled, hairy; ligule a small ridge only. Racemes 8-15, rachis covered with bulbous based hairs. Spikelets 1.2 x 1 mm, usually paired at the basal part of the raceme; upper glume 1 x 0.5 mm, elliptic, 3-nerved, glabrous; first lemma 1.2 x 1 mm, 3-nerved; second lemma 1 x 0.9 mm, nerveless, crustaceous; palea similar to lemma. Flowering and fruiting: October-December
