This grass was photographed from below Jawahar Tunnel in Kashmir. Pl. help in ID

It is Cymbopogon sp. The racemes are yet to emerge out from the spathes. Probably C.distans if altitude is above 1500m or C.jwarancusa if altitude is low.

Regarding the ID of Poaceae Plant from Sawahal, Hamirpur, H.P.: 5 images.
Sharing a perennial grass plant growing in dry and seasonally moist open slopes with limited distribution in Upper Shiwaliks. Kindly ID this species.

Habitat:  Dry and seasonally moist open slopes.
Occurrence: Not very common.
Flowering: Early Summers.
Observations: Stems are Purple-red, leaves are dark green, plants in flowering look quite attractive and ornamental.
