The forest ghost flower – indiantreepix | Google Groups : 4 images.
Last weekend (12 SEP 09) at Tungareshwar Wildlife Sanctuary, came across Aeginetia indica with white coloured flowers.
… commonly known as: forest ghost flower • Hindi: आँकुरी बाँकुरी aankuri bankuri • Malayalam: കീരിപൂ keeripu • Marathi: गुलाबदाणी gulabdani
This is very interesting. We never had such in south.
I am seeing the white sp. for the first time. Thanks for sharing.
Here is the pink one. 2 images.
Thanx … for the showing the white flowered Aeginetia indica. simply wonderful!!!!
Tungareshwar is home to such miracles including the rusty spotted cat and what not. A systematic documentation of flora and fauna would disclose many such miracles, if work is done properly.
… that is some news …, thank you very much !! Was already happy that I cam across some rare variety; now, would be doubly happy to know if Aeginetia indica alba is an accepted name … any further validations in this context?
