Sep 21, 2008 … at Vaghbil, Thane, Maharashtra … please check your source, mash as we know is another name for Urd, and should not be used for this species Yes … Many thanks for updating this post with correct ID. that thread has a nice key by … ends my confusion at least (its was a bit of a conundrum for the uninitiated me… vigna mungo is really Urad and not mung (urad is the black bean we eat) and mung is vigna radiata var. radiata is the real green mung, we eat and vigna radiata var. sublobata is the wild mung with browninsh hair on the bean pods… which this case does. the first big picture above in this thread…
and the beauty of that older thread is that all three in the key has representative excellent pictures in the same place/page/thread. Valid identification for Vigna spp : 6 posts by 2 authors. Attachments (6) Kindly identify this vigna spp.

ID please.
Can this plant be Vigna vexillata (Linn.) A. Rich., Hist.Fis.polit.nat.l,Cuba (Spanish ed.). 11:191. 1845. & in Sagra, Ess.Fl.Cuba 440.1846; Baker in Hook.f., Fl.Brit.Ind.2:206.1876. ? V. vexillata has relatively larger flower (about 25 – 30 mm) compared to what is posted (about 10 – 12 mm), colour too is different, somewhere between pink to purple. Ok …, I am looking forward to find a species closer to this. Thanks to point me the difference Posting Vigna vexillata for cross reference… … adding more views of today’s visit.
Date/Time : October 24, 2010 at 9.34am IST Location Place : Tungareshwar Wildlife Sanctuary Altitude : about 263 m (above mean sea level) GPS : around 19°25’6.31″N, 72°54’35.13″E I think close to images at Vigna radiata var. sublobata (Roxb.) Verdc. Thank you very much, …, for working on this ID. I agree it is close to Vigna radiata var. sublobata, and must be it.
The smaller size of flowers, and their paler colour had made me wonder of the ID.

Legume images from efi looks matching with Vigna radiata var. sublobata ! . Vigna radiata (L.) R.Wilczek :: Waghbil, Thane, Maharashtra :: Sep 18, 2010 · 1:26 PM IST: 5 images. Is it not the following as per your earlier posts:
https://efloraofindia.com/2011/04/05/vigna-radiata-var-sublobata/ ? I have all of them as only Vigna radiata in my notes, except for one post – markedly different Vigna radiata – delicate twiner with smaller and paler flowers – https://groups.google.com/g/indiantreepix/c/-QAJ
I will check the status of each observation in my notes, and return to this post, tomorrow after going through all of them.
Vigna radiata (L.) R. Wilczek var. sublobata
I checked my posts in eFI Group … found one post which has all the observations illustrated in it – Fabaceae (Faboideae) Fortnight :: Vigna radiata var sublobata :: n Western Ghats :: DVOCT130 !!
Later on, I do not recollect why I would have dropped the variety ID in my flickr notes. In either case, the post in our group nor the observations in iNaturalist are validated for what I have suggested.
Thus, I am revising my notes for all the observations listed above to Vigna radiata var. sublobata (Roxb.) Verdc. in both flickr and iNaturalist, and will update here, in case it gets validated otherwise.
Many thanks …, for pointing to the discrepancy in my notes, and the resulting mess. .
