Clitocybe (Lepista) nuda? /ABAUG01/03 : 8 posts by 4 authors. 3 images. I am a complete novice when it comes to fungi/mushroom and do not know which features are essential to recognise a mushroom. May be … can advise. I thought I may as well start posting a few and seek a lot of help from experts here on the group. Please help. Is Clitocybe nuda found in the Indian Himalayas? Above Mcleodganj, Dharamshala, HP 1800m 30 July 2015 I have no idea about this beautiful looking mushroom. Wow! Beautiful. Inclined to think it may be a Cortinarius sp. if so, a spore print would help a lot. Cortinarius spores would be rusty brown to brownish red Thank you … I am not sure if the mushrooms are still there. How does one obtain a spore print? its easy put a mature mushroom on a glass slide or white paper i ‘v done it on blotting paper but any white paper will do like non printed newsprint etc even the xerox paper put the mushroom down cover with a glass bowl donot disturb it for 10 to 12 hours the spores will fall in place and create a pattern of the gills and shows color etc if glass slides are used one could then examine under the microscope many of the spores tend to be unique thats apparently helpful in classification Thank you … I will do so the next time I find a mushroom.
