Woody climbers, young branchlets hairy, black on drying, smooth, spines very small. Leaves 6 x 2-3 cm, oblong, elliptic, obtuse at apex, slightly emarginate. Flowers in racemes, 4 cm across, white. Berry ovoid, 2-4 cm across, stipe to 6 cm long. Flowering and fruiting: March-October
