Couldn’t go any closer as we are not allowed to get down from the vehicle. The fern is Dyopteris affinis This is a very handsome big fern, Thelypteris (sect. Macrothelypteris) ornata – you often see it in herbaria mistaken for a tree-fern. It is common in Nepal, Darjeeling, Sikkim etc. at lower-mid altitude and gets into the W. Himalaya as well.
