Slender herbs, spreading from a central woody root stock. Leaves 2-foilolate, leaflets 0.8-1.5 x 0.15-0.2 cm, linear-lanceolate, acuminate at apex, glabrous with scattered black glands. Petioles 0.6-0.8 cm long. Stipules 0.4-0.6 cm, ovate-lanceolate, glandular. Racemes axillary or terminal. Peduncles 2-5 cm long. Bracts geminate, foliaceous, 0.4-0.6 x 0.3-0.4 cm, ovate, glandular without, ciliate on margins. Flowers 0.6-0.8 cm across. Calyx tube c. 0.15 cm long, lobes 5, unequal. Corolla yellow, 0.6-0.7 cm long. Stamens 10, monadelphous; alternating filaments long and short; anthers dimorphic. Ovary 0.15 x 0.2 cm long, pubescent; style filiform, 0.6 cm long.

Pl help me to confirm the identification of the attached specimen.
It looks different from Z. diphylla and Z.gibbosa.
It was recorded at Radhapuram, Tirunelveli Dist. Tamilnadu on 18-01-15

Thanks, … Your plant is depicted as Kollam Zornia at FOI (found only in Kerala).

However, there is lot of confusion in literature as can be seen at ‎Zornia

I have attached two pictures of a plant to this mail. Could anyone help me to identify this? It was collected from Kannur district in Kerala. I understand that it has got high medicinal value and used as medicine by conventional practitioners. If anyone can give the local names (malayalam, tamil/kannada), that will be more helpfull for me.

this is Zornia species of Fabaceae. There are 3-4 species (Z. diphylla, Z. gibbosa, Z. quilonensis etc.) in Kerala distinguished mainly on features like leaf shape, presence of gland dots on leaves & bracts etc.
