Common name: Dwarf powderpuff Very distinct species with single pair of pinnae and just three leaflets in each; dense shrub or small tree; leaflets oblong or obovate, up to 5 cm long, unequal-sided; flowers red in a solitary axillary head; petals 5-6 mm long; stamens 25-30 mm long, red. Photographed from Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi. Its flowering now in Saras Bag Pune on south side lawns. The description of the plant proved useful to me; especially: “with single pair of pinnae and just three leaflets in each” … helped me in knowing the epithet tergemina.
