I am looking for pictures and flower samples (atleast 3-5 preserved in 70% alcohol) of Aerides multiflora from all corners of India if possible. Areas near Bangladesh (eastern, like Assam) will be HIGHLY preferred as Sylhet in Bangladesh is the type locality of the same. But I need from other parts too. It is an epiphytic orchid, very common and flowers before the rains usually till the mid of the season.
Please find attached a plate of the same to help you in identification. I would be grateful and your help will be acknowledged. – Who ever are posting, please take care that the jar should be small and properly sealed, there is not need to full the jar with alcohol. Filling 25% of the volume of the jar will be enough. Please take care while keeping the flowers inside, a long floral stalk can provide support to the specimens inside, and loosely kept flowers without support can break. 28062010VAI1 – Orchid for ID:

This very beautiful epiphyte was quite common along Siliguri-Kalimpong road in May 2014.. Can this be Aerides maculosa ?? No sir, this is Aerides multiflora. Thanks … for correcting and additional information..
I now remember UC Pradhan Ji quoting this name for a common orchid flowering those days, I could not properly gather by my mistake… Aerides maculosa is not found in Northeast India (not anywhere above Orissa). May be in Chhatishgarh. Yes …, he was so generous to show all his collection and also explained development of some of his own cultivars by hybridization techniques.. I will be sharing Jewel orchid too..

I found this growing on a Jacaranda tree in the lower Dharamshala town at about 1500m. The orchid was quite high and I couldn’t take any close ups. I think this is Aerides multiflora. Please advise.
