I found it in a densely populated slum area in Mumbai, was very surprised to see it there.
The slums had taken over a erstwhile green hillock and then realised that this may have been a spared from the axe.
My first sight of this plant, later, I saw this climber forming a dense cover over entire hills of the Konkan in March 2014.

Plz id this climber: pa25 – 3nov2012: This is Combretum albidum locally called Piluki. Please check the archives of this group for my photographs of this. Isn’t this Calycopteris floribunda ? My first impression was also that it was Getonia floribunda [Calycopteris floribunda], but it is Combretum albidum. My photographs of this are available in the archives of this group. I feel some difference in the leaf shape, especially at the tip and the venation. please verify.

Seen at the Maharashtra Nature Park, Mumbai. A climber, commonly known as Paper Flower Climber. Is it the new name for Calycopteris floribunda? Yes, the generic name Calycopteris is invalid and the next available name Getonia is to be adopted.

Family: Combretaceae Nothing to say about this excellent photography and correct identification. nice, … does this occur in bengal? The species in Indo-Malesian in distribution. I have seen specimens from Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Odisha and Tamil Nadu. Date – 14.05.2017 It looks like the winged fruit of Getonia floribunda Roxb. [Combretaceae] has flown and dropped on those leaves from somewhere. I agree with … thoughts. Oh,I didn’t notice that … The tiny flower- (sorry, fruit !! ) was so beautiful… didn’t observe it properly ! Just thought that it’s from the same plant. Thanks a lot.

Local name I heard is Pulanji.
Flowers are mildly fragrant.
