Chlorophytum heynei

Chlorophytum heynei Baker, J. Linn. Soc., Bot. 15: 322 1876. (syn: Anthericum heynei Rottler ex Baker; Chlorophytum heyneanum Wall. ex Hook.f.);

Stem very short. Leaves 20 x 5 cm, oblanceolate, acute to apex, narrowed to base. Racemes to 18 cm long, stout, densely-flowered. Pedicel 5 mm long; tepals 8 mm long, elliptic-lanceolate; ovary obovoid, retuse; style slender; stigma terminal. Capsule 10 x 7 mm, obovoid, 3-lobed; seeds 2 x 2 mm, orbicular, irregular, obtusely muriculate, black.

Flowering and fruiting: July-October
